Massimo Vignelli's Vintage Heller Plasticware

Weisshouse recently acquired a colorful collection of vintage Heller Plasticware that was originally conceived in 1964 in Italy. Heller Plasticware was designed by Massimo Vignelli. This vibrant system of stacking dishes, bowls and mugs is in the Museum of Modern Art and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York. This melamine dinnerware IS truly is an icon of  the 1960s with its bright colors and simple shapes.

Massimo Vignelli was born in Milan in 1931. He is a designer who has done work in a number of areas ranging from package design to house ware design to furniture design to public signage to showroom design through Vignelli Associates, which he co-founded with his wife, Lella.
