Born in 1925 in Syracuse, New York, William Douglas McGee was influenced by Franz Kline and was best known for his early abstract oil paintings, mixed media collages, and large color field paintings that are exhibited in MOMA, Dallas Museum of Fine Art and the Chicago Art Institute.
