Howard
Brumberg’s home is tucked into the trees of Latrobe, PA. After his
career brought him to Pennsylvania from Albany, Howard began building
his home in the lush pastures outside of Pittsburgh. Vaulted ceilings
and sweeping windows set the stage for a well-curated, contemporary
oasis.
The Grand Papilio chair from B&B Italia adds a rich pop of color alongside a Camerich sectional.
While on the hunt for rugs to ground his new home, Howard connected with Weisshouse
designer Ron Reinheimer. After selecting a moroccan area rug for the
great room, Ron and Howard began to outline a vision for the rest of the
space. The open floor plan allowed for bold, contemporary pieces. A mix
of natural elements and vintage finds helped to tie new additions into
Howard’s existing art collection.
A cozy library nestles into the adjoining space. This space balances a bold mix of graphic elements, so it was important to select classic silhouettes in solid, neutral tones. A modern take on a coffered ceiling guides your eye back to an incredible abstract piece.

A formal sitting room mixes contemporary frames in rich earth tones. The sofa’s clean lines and walnut base help to pull in a mid-century element.
Functionality
is always a major factor in choosing the right pieces, and we love
seeing clients put their new space to good use. A vintage farm table
provides plenty of room to entertain a crowd while doubling as the
perfect landscape for Howard’s young daughter, Kyla, to play. The mix of
vintage pieces create a minimal, airy space -- no kid gloves required.
Creating
small vignettes throughout the home allowed Ron to maximize space and
create small retreats that each have their own personality.
Room to Play
No
home is complete without space to unwind. The home’s lower level and
Kyla’s bedroom both provide plenty of space to let loose and reflect her
own evolving style, while modern accents show Howard’s own hand in the
decor.
The lower level offers plenty of room for play while letting in the property’s landscape views.
Vibrant primary colors give energy to a music room on the home’s second floor.
