As designers, we find inspiration everywhere. Today, we were inspired by Veranda Magazine and their article about a new book, Living in Style New York and the jaw dropping home that famous fashion designer, Tommy Hilfiger shares with his wife Dee in The Plaza Hotel.

There are so many new design trends hitting the pages of magazines like Interior Design, Dwell, Architectural Digest and Lonny Mag for 2013. Some of these trends have even gone global. One of the hottest design trends to go global is "Minimalism". There are many creative ways to approach this trend without looking too institutional. One of the ways a minimal interior can be both soothing and simple and playful is to use hints of bright, beautiful color! Choose your main pieces (sofa, chairs, tables, lighting) in a crisp white or soft, natural linen and choose colors that speak to you to elevate your interior and add some personality with accessories. Colorful striped wall paper, bright pillows, artwork and painted focal walls are all effective in adding just the correct dose of color. The Stylish Cherner Chair: Since 1958

Weisshouse is proud to carry Cherner Chairs. The original, now iconic molded plywood chair was designed by Norman Cherner and just happens to be a favorite design staple among clients and designers.

"Norman Cherner's furniture designs include the "multi-flex" modular storage system, the "Konwiser Line" of furniture and lighting, and molded plywood seating for Plycraft which he designed in 1958. The molded plywood ‘Cherner Chair' became his most recognized design and is found in furniture collections worldwide." (www.chernerchair.com)

Today, the Cherner legacy is carried on by Benjamin and Thomas Cherner. "After listening to countless requests from fellow Architects to see his father's designs reissued, Benjamin decided to join with his brother Thomas to form the Cherner Chair Company in 1999. Since then the Cherner Chair Company has brought back into production many of Norman Cherner's most popular designs. Utilizing his original drawings and specifications, the reissued designs are manufactured with the same attention to detail found in the original hand made classics.
